2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This year’s conference theme, “Gateway to Equity,” explores inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs, in living a fair, just, and balanced life. I am a parent of a son born with congenital hydrocephalus. Kyle is 18 and is nonverbal and uses both a manual and power chair. This is my 2nd consecutive year to attend TASH. Since my first conference last year in St. Louis, I along with my mentor and friend, Susan Ellis, organized the first TASH budding AlabamaTASH chapter. We will be voted on and made official at this year's Atlanta conference! Kyle was also chosen to present on Thursday at 4:25 session - "Teen JobSeeker".
Kyle and I are very excited to be here again this year to learn and make more new friends.
