2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This year’s conference theme, “Gateway to Equity,” explores inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs, in living a fair, just, and balanced life. Therese Fimian has worked in the disability and employment field for over 20 years, establishing and overseeing national workforce programs, research, and demonstration projects that promote economic empowerment and self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities. Therese’s work with strategy, policy and systems has led to the development and adoption of services to create access to competitive, integrated employment options for individuals with significant disabilities consistent with the goals of the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Employment First policies. Therese is currently directing SourceAmerica’s Pathways to Careers initiative, a national customized employment initiative designed to ensure that youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder can successfully obtain competitive, integrated, employment and achieve their career goals.
