Family Advocacy & Community Training (FACT)
F.A.C.T.'s mission is to mentor and and empower families through advocacy and training to improve the quality of life and opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities. We provide advocacy and parent support for families of children and young adults with both developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. Parent Support Partner services for families with children up to age 18 with a Behavioral Health diagnosis. Services are provided by a parent who has gone through the journey of raising a child with a behavioral health diagnosis, and in turn supports other families going through the same journey. Family Support services for families that include a person with a developmental disability. This service is provided by a family support partner who assists families in finding resources, accessing services, and navigating systems. The Family Support Partner is a parent of a child with a disability and provides direct support, including emotional support and a listening ear, to parents with the hope of helping families gain knowledge, and a have voice at the table. Educational Advocacy for families with children from 0-21 with developmental disabilities who need assistance with obtaining and understanding the maze of special education.
