2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This year’s conference theme, “Gateway to Equity,” explores inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs, in living a fair, just, and balanced life. I enjoy working with individuals with special needs in the educational setting and the equestrian setting. I'm fairly new to transition from school to community and the resources that are available . I enjoy watching my students transform their horsemanship skills to the arena and their abilities to compete with individuals without special needs and be successful. I have one certified therapy dog and another in training. I have been an Irlen screener for four years. I have been diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome for six years and my colored filters have been changed a few times within those years. The filters have made a huge difference in my abilities to focus, comprehend, decrease in headaches and anxiety as well as ability to read for longer periods of time.
