2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This year’s conference theme, “Gateway to Equity,” explores inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs, in living a fair, just, and balanced life. We have an intellectual disability and autism. College was never something that seems achievable for us, especially not at a big 4-year university! But we got in! We want to share our experiences in a transition program on a college campus and why we think it is so important for other students like us. Our transition program focuses on teaching us things we need to know to get jobs and live on our own, but in a place where we get to have an experience of college like everyone else. Everyone should get an experience like us!. -Participants will learn about our college transition experience -Participants will hear our first hand accounts of the ƒ??collegeƒ? experience -Participants will learn what is important to us as individuals with disabilities and how to make transition p
