2016 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. This presentation operationalizes and contrasts Quality of Life variables and reports the findings of an case study examining the characteristics of staff employed by different funding mechanisms to the Quality of Life outcomes for an individual with multiple disabilities needing comprehensive physical, medical and behavioral supports. Participants will be able to explain the differences between self-directed supports and provider agency supports. Participants will be able to identify multiple measurable Quality of Life outcomes (health and safety, independence and self-determination, educational and vocational pursuits, community involvement and relationships, self-advocacy and human rights) Participants will be able to describe a number of individualized support staff training strategies.
