Each year, the TASH Conference strengthens the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world. Learn one man's journey in being influential in impacting how teachers, his family, community supports and educational systems support the whole person. Following a traumatic brain injury in 2009, Mr. Frank Tyler will share his experiences in becoming a self-advocate and developing the skills to articulate his dreams. Additionally, Mr. Tyler will share the environmental supports and strategies that were learned and that continue to support him post-graduation and in the workplace. At the end of this session, participants will be able to: react to a personal story of one manŸ??s journey from school to employment following a traumatic brain injury Construct a rationale for supporting individuals in creating a road map to their dreams engaging family, friends, the school system and community agencies distinguish between strategies that support and actions that get in the way of supporting individuals in setting and reaching personal goals
